Welcome 2019! Everyone make their resolutions? New year, new me, right? Anyone already give up on those resolutions? No judgement here, if you have.

First of all, I am excited for this new year! New opportunities have already presented themselves and I cannot wait to see what God has in store!

I have not made any resolutions, I don’t like them. However, I do have goals for this year. Along with focusing on my family and my health, I have goals and dreams that I intend to pursue. BIG dreams.

Dreams that require me to stop convincing myself that “good enough” is good enough.

What does that say of my faith in God, if I don’t trust Him to deliver on His promises? Nope. Not gonna be the person who “arrives safely” at her death. I refuse to be the kind of person with regrets of “what if”.

What are you dreaming of?

Whether you’ve told anyone or not, I’m willing to bet that you’ve dreamt up God-sized dreams before. Dreams that you secretly wished for, but have dismissed because you know it would take a miracle for them to come true.

Dreams that require you to put in some effort. Dreams that require you to let go of worrying what others think or say of you. Dreams that would push you so far outside your comfort zone and stretch you to a whole new level.

Dreams that require you to keep trying and not give up. I read a quote one day that said, when we first learn to walk, we fall down, but we don’t give up on the idea of walking.

What are you afraid of?

Does the fear of failure hold you back from pursuing your dreams? In the Bible, God reveals His promises to us. Promises that only He can fulfill. Along with those promises, He tells us that we don’t have to be afraid and promises to be with us wherever we go.

Don’t be afraid! Jesus has wonderful plans for us. Plans that we cannot begin to understand. Plans to fulfill His purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Courage

All over social media people are posting their “Word” for 2019. The other day I was browsing the Dayspring website, looking at their huge selection of Christian books, bibles, gifts, and everything in between. I came across their ‘Word Of The Year For 2019 Quiz’.

After answering only seven questions, I received my word… Courage! How awesome is that? And how fitting! To dream big, you have to have courage!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”-Joshua 1:9

I am choosing to trust in Him and in His promises. I will seek His will and have courage to pursue it. If I fall, I will get up. Whatever comes my way, I will praise Him. It will not always be easy, it will probably even hurt sometimes. I might even want to quit. I will trust His leading and dream big!
